Llanddowror and Llanmiloe Community Council currently has vacancies, so now is a chance for you to make a positive impact in your community!
If you might be interested, please contact the Clerk on [email protected] , or one of the current Councillors (Sandra Hewens, Terence Langdon in the South Ward, David Howells, Phill Pickerskill, Nigel Hodson, Leigh Clarkson or Andrew Sims in the North Ward).
This is a chance for you to work for your community. The role is unpaid, but there are certain allowances that can be claimed.
Llanddowror and Llanmiloe Community Council has received a few queries and comments which suggest that a small number of people think that it is in some way responsible for the actions and activities of Llanmiloe and District Community Association.
We would like to make absolutely clear that the two bodies are completely separate. The Council is part of local government. The Association is a local community association, and not part of local government. Neither body is responsible for nor answerable to the other.
We as a Council support both of the community associations that are within our area, and are delighted that they put on events such as bonfire and firework displays, Christmas-time activities for children and families, and various other activities throughout the year. We do periodically provide financial support for these events, which are benefiting the whole community. We have also bought and donated items for community use such as seating benches and waste bins as well as funding towards play equipment - again for the benefit of the whole community.

- Contact your GP
- Contact your local pharmacy
Llanddowror and Llanmiloe Commuity Council does not have the legal powers, nor the resources, to resolve issues such as flooding, even though we have every sympathy with those who are facing what can be a frightening situation. All we can do for you is report it on to the proper authority who then has a responsibility to deal with the situation.

Llanddowror Meeting Room.
The Meeting Room is owned by Llanddowror and Llanmiloe Community Council, at the heart of the local community, and is available for individuals and groups to use. It is not a massive building, but it is here, for you.
We know that the past two years have been restrictive, and many people are now wary of meeting others at times – even though social interaction is essential for your own health physically, mentally and psychologically.
If you are interested in using the Meeting Room, please do get in touch – please contact the Clerk on [email protected], or get in touch with one of your local North Ward Councillors (David Howells, Phill Pickersgill, Nigel Hodson, Leigh Clarkson, Eric Haines).
Llanddowror and Llanmiloe Community Council covers an area which includes both of the named villages and the rural area in between which includes various farms, businesses and private dwellings. The two villages have thriving village associations that are very active in their communities. In Llanddowror the community council owns and runs the Meeting Room, and also the public toilets that are adjacent to it. In Llanmiloe the Llanmiloe and District Community Association own and run the Resource Centre, as well as the adjacent playing field.
If you wish to find out more about the Council and what it does, or you wish to ask a question, please get in contact with the Clerk on [email protected]
